OUR STORY:

High Performance Kennel began in 2023 with one dog who changed our lives.

After losing his childhood dog of 13 years, my fiancé was ready to welcome another dog into our family. Although I had never owned a dog before, we took a leap of faith and drove 23 hours to Northern California to bring home our first American Bully, Canelo.

Like many first-time owners, we had a lot to learn. We invested in a professional trainer, worked through challenges, and quickly realized how important genetics, early training, structure, and responsible ownership are in raising a great dog.

As our passion for the breed grew, so did our commitment. We attended American Bully shows, continued learning, and welcomed Sugar into our program. From there, High Performance Kennel was born with one clear purpose: to produce healthy, well-rounded American Bullies while helping create knowledgeable, responsible dog owners.

Our journey took an unexpected turn when Canelo was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Losing him was heartbreaking, but it also strengthened our purpose. He taught us what a great dog is, and his life continues to inspire everything we do. His legacy lives on through his son, Saint, and our commitment to producing healthier, well-balanced dogs while helping families give them the best life possible.

Today, every puppy we raise is given a strong foundation through selective breeding, early socialization, basic training, and daily care. We believe dogs are one of God's greatest gifts, and with that gift comes responsibility. Our goal is not only to raise great companions but also to teach families how to communicate with their dogs, build trust, and develop a lasting relationship that allows both the owner and the dog to thrive together.

This is more than breeding dogs, it's carrying forward the legacy of the dog who started it all. Every litter is our way of honoring Canelo by continuing the work he inspired: building better companions, creating better owners, and leaving the breed better than we found it.
